Easy Margarita Popsicles

Patrón Tequila Triple Sec Lemonade

Freeze Pops

It seems to be unusually hot and dry in Florida right now. As a result, I am enjoying everything frozen. Popsicles are quickly becoming a food group. So, I have been experimenting with making my own. And, I LOVE the easy margarita popsicles I made recently.

Freezer Pops

If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.

Alcoholic Popsicles

Alcoholic popsicles are fairly easy to make, despite the low freeze level of some alcohol. The higher the percentage of alcohol, the more you will need to dilute it to get a frozen popsicle.

I have had success with these Easy Alcoholic Popsicles and these Easy Boozy Popsicles.

For this recipe, I used Patrón. Patrón has 40% alcohol. That means I needed to add a lot of lemonade to lower the overall alcohol content in the popsicles.

My first batch was a little slushy, because I didn’t dilute the alcohol content enough. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t totally frozen either.

Tequila Triple Sec Lemonade

I didn’t need to make a grocery order for these popsicles. But, if you do, a quick online order and pick up will take care of everything you need.

  • Real Lemonade – I use Simply Lemonade, but you could make it too
  • Lime Juice
  • Triple Sec
  • Patrón or other tequila
  • Amazon Link – Freeze Pop Bags

Remember how I said my first batch was a little slushy? Well, that was because I tried to make them how I make a regular margarita…a little heavy on the tequila. My second batch had more lemonade and lime juice, and a little less tequila and triple sec.

Begin by mixing 8 oz of lemonade with 1.5 oz of lime juice. Then, mix in 1.5 oz of Tequila and .5oz of Triple Sec.

Lemon Freeze Pop

Now, use a funnel to pour the mix into zip top freeze pop bags or popsicle molds. After I filled my freezer pop bags, I placed them in a tall cup and put the cup in the freezer over night.

If you wanted to enjoy slushy margaritas, you could add a little more tequila and triple sec and a little less lemonade. You can buy juice pouch style zip top bags on Amazon (affiliate link) here.

Either way, you are sure to enjoy these easy alcoholic freezer pops or slushies!
