4th of July Drizzle Cake

Everyday Party Magazine 4th of July Drizzle Cake by Lizard N Ladybug

4th of July Drizzle Cake by Lizard N Ladybug.  If you follow Lizard N Ladybug at all, I am sure you have seen (and fallen in love with) her amazing drizzle cakes…maybe even wished you were her neighbor so you could have a taste of it yourself…So when she agreed to share the DIY/Recipe for it, I may have squealed in delight.

From Lizard N Ladybug:

This is the easiest cake ever!

Ingredients:
Cake Mix
Frosting
Food Coloring
Optional:
Sprinkles

For the 4th of July Drizzle Cake, I used Duff’s Blue Velvet Cake Mix, and prepared it according to the directions on the box.
{you could easily add food coloring to white cake mix}

Once the cake cooled, it was time for icing. My go-to is white icing {which can also be colored using food coloring} To give the icing the ‘drizzle’ effect, heat up the entire container (minus lid & foil) in the microwave 15 seconds.  Continue to heat for 15seconds until it looks like this.

Once the entire cake is covered, usually one tub of icing, you can decorate with your favorite red, white and blue sprinkles (or candy)

It looks so patriotic!

I have been making drizzle cakes for years.
It’s the easiest (and most versatile) cake ever!
