Handmade Valentine’s Day Card Envelope

Felt-Valentines-Day-Envelope

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

Handmade Valentine’s Day Card Envelope

My sweet niece will soon be celebrating her first Valentine’s Day in school, and like many little ones, she is SO EXCITED! I have made her a special shirt to wear, but she specifically asked me to make her a “giant envelope to hold all of the cards”
This project is relatively simple, but it does take a little time if you hand sew it like I did.

Step 1

Open this cut file. Prepare the cutting mats with Cricut felt {2 sheets) and Iron On. {Place Iron On on the cutting mat shiny side down and mirror the cut}

Step 2

Send the file to cut, and remove excess felt. Set the Iron On aside until later.

Step 3

Hand stitch or sew the felt pieces together. I hand stitched it and looped the thread for each stitch.

Step 4

I weeded the excess Iron On after I stitched the envelope together on three sides. I layered Martha Stewart Gold on top of everyday white.

Step 5

Press the iron on onto the envelope following Cricut’s recommended heat settings.

Step 6

Fold the envelope flap over, and press the fold. This will help create a crease in the felt, allowing the envelope to open and close as a traditional envelope does.

That’s it! It was fun and relatively easy project, even if it was a little time consuming because I stitched it by hand.
