Easy Valentine’s Day Treat Box
This project is was a breeze to make, thanks to the scoring wheel! I have never liked MAKING paper rosettes. I love the look of them, but even with a scoring stylus I could never get the folds to fold clean enough to make a nice looking rosette. However, the Single Scoring Wheel allowed me to create perfect folds for my double heart rosette.
The Cricut Maker and Scoring Wheels
The Cricut Scoring Wheel made this project a cinch to assemble! Previously, the stylus tool was used for scoring, and while it was effective, it is not nearly as effective as the Scoring Wheel on heavier materials. Make more than ever before with the Cricut Scoring Wheel; from flawlessly finished tags, cards, and gift boxes to wearable art, 3D projects, and more. You’ll bring pro-level precision to every possible crease-and-fold project. Get crisp creases in one pass. Make perfect, effortless folds. Rejoice in that flawless finish. With up to 10X more pressure than the Scoring Stylus, the patented wheel design takes on basic materials with ease. Use the Cricut Machine Tools with Cricut Maker™ machines only.
Heart Shaped Treat Box:
To make this sweet heart box, you will need about a half an hour of cut and assembly time, and couple other supplies.
Supplies:
Cricut Maker with Cricut Scoring Wheel, and Fine Point Blade
1 Sheet of Pink, and 1 Sheet of Red
Heart Shaped Box {I got mine from Target in the arts and crafts section}
Step 1:
Go to Target and buy a heart shaped box. {And $200 worth of other Target goodness}
Step 2:
Open this cut file, and prepare your cutting mats with pink and red paper.
Step 3:
Send the file to cut.
Step 4:
Remove the excess paper.
Step 5:
Use the Xyron Tape Runner to connect the longer two scored strips of paper to each other.
Step 6:
Now, fold the scored lines like an accordion for both the long and short strips of paper.
Step 7:
Use the Xyron {again} to connect the two ends together on each of the folded strips of paper. {It will make a wavy circle}
Step 8:
Fold each circle into a heart shape, and pinch the middle together.
Step 9:
Apply hot glue to the larger circle and place it in the middle of the larger heart. {You may need to add a dab of hot glue to the front as well}
Step 10:
Repeat Step 9 on the smaller heart.
Step 11:
Use more hot glue to adhere both the large and small hearts to the coordinating rosettes.
Step 12:
Attach the smaller heart rosette to the larger one with hot glue.
Step 13:
Hot glue the double layer heart rosette to the top of the heart shaped box.
Step 14:
Line the box with tissue, and fill with treats. I filled it with chocolate candies and bite sized brownies.
My niece and nephew will love their box of goodies!
