I shared recently that we are on a little bit more tight budget than usual because one of our boys is playing semi-pro hockey in South Florida. And, because we have two households to run (and decorate) I am decorating on a super small budget. So, I have been a frequent visitor at both of the local dollar stores. And, I am so in love with this cute little Dollar Store DIY Halloween Project!
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Halloween Projects
I love Halloween! It is the start of the holiday season, and I always get so excited for it. I might even get more excited than my kids.
And, even though I have a ton of fun Halloween projects on the blog, these are a few of my favorites!
Dollar Store DIY Halloween Project
This project was super easy to make. In fact, I think young kids could easily make this with very little supervision. I had all of the supplies I needed except the BOO! blank at home. But, if you don’t click the Amazon links below, or check out my Amazon Shop.
- BOO! sign blank – I found mine at the dollar store, but these are similar
- Paint
- Paint brushes
- Circle paint brush
Begin by painting your sign with a base coat. I painted it black on both sides. Be sure to get inside the letters too!
Once the black paint was fully dry, I added a little orange and white paint to a paper plate and grabbed my circle paint brush/stamper to add orange and white polka dots to the sign.
I even stamped some dots near the edge to get semi-circles. Be random, and add as many polka dots to your dollar store DIY as you like!
Wait for it to dry and then hang it on your door or place it in your home! This was such a super easy and affordable way to add a little bit of Halloween fun to our son’s apartment!
