Easy DIY Halloween Countdown Calendar
One of our family’s favorite holiday activities is counting down the days to Christmas with our advent calendars. It was a great visual reminder for the boys when they were younger. Now, it’s a fun way to get a small treat (and do some Random Acts of Kindness) Since our advent calendars are so special, I wanted to make something similar for Halloween. I thought about making a fabric hanging calendar, or even a magnetic one. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted it to be a more interactive countdown. And, since I lack patience for crafting, I needed our new Halloween Countdown Calendar to be super easy to make!
Make a Countdown Calendar
Y’all this countdown calendar is super easy to make and doubles as fabulous a Halloween decoration too! I used pre-made paper mâché books from Michaels and decorated them to look like spell books. Then, I used my Maker to cut chipboard separators to put in each book.
Countdown Calendar Supplies
Tissue Paper or Scrap Book Paper
Step 1
Open this cut file and begin cutting.
Step 2
While the chipboard is cutting, decorate the outside of the books. Hot glue bats, snakes, spiders and more to the books. Then cover with Mod Podge and tissue paper. Or just cover with scrapbook paper. Then, paint the book pages and backs.
Step 3
Assemble the book dividers and place one in each book.
Step 4
Fill each space with a small Halloween treat or tickets for a fun Halloween activity.
Step 5
Use as Halloween decorations and as a great Halloween Countdown Calendar!
