Halloween Costume With The Cricut EasyPress Mini

Gingham Halloween Decorations

Halloween Costume With The Cricut EasyPress Mini

My sweet niece is totally in love with baby dolls right now, and wants to match her little dolls as often as possible. She believes I am magic. And, that I can make her anything her little heart desires. Right now, she wants matching witch costumes for herself and her dolls. But, I can’t sew. So, we compromised and made matching witch hats for her and her dolls for right now. Her hat is part of her Halloween Costume, and it was so easy to personalize with the new Cricut EasyPress Mini!

This review is based strictly on my opinion.  Others may have a different opinion or experience with the product listed above.  I was provided the sample free of charge by the company or PR agency and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

How to Make Halloween Costume Hats

The witch hats were super easy to make, you can find the cut file here. You only need a few supplies to make them, and I bet you already have most of the supplies already.

I wanted to make my niece’s hats from a more rigid felt, and Cricut’s felt was perfect. Since I was limited to an 11.5×11.5″-ish cut size, my niece’s hat won’t fit on her head like a traditional hat, but we will add some ribbon and tie it on or add it to a headband for her to wear.

The doll’s hats will fit more like a traditional hat though.

Don’t forget to mirror the images and place the Iron On on the cutting mat shiny side down.

Preheat the EasyPress Mini. Use the heat setting guide here.

Step 4:

Press the Iron On images onto each felt hat. The EasyPress Mini made this so easy because I could see what and where I was pressing on such a small surface.

Step 5:

Use adhesive to secure the hats into a cone shape, and onto the hat brims. This step can be done with a sewing machine or needle and thread.

Step 6:

Add an X shaped slice to the middle of the brim on the small hats for the dolls. This will allow the hats to fit on the dolls’ heads.

Step 7:

Add ribbon or a headband to the larger hat. This allows the hat to sit on top of your cute little witch’s head. DIY Witch HatHalloween Place Settings Cricut Maker Cricut EasyPress Mini Cricut EasyPress Mini
