Simple Shark Week Shirt DIY. Shark Week is a big deal in our family! For as far back as I can remember, we have watched Shark Week as a family, and now, we not only watch it as a family, I host an annual watch party. Sometimes, if the weather is right, I will host a flick and float Shark Week party, other times, we have to move the party inside…but, no matter where we have the party, we always have a good time!
For the last several years, I have made Shark Week shirts for my kids and niece and nephew. I love being able to use my Cricut to create custom party decor and even shirts for the guests. Our Shark Week Shirts are something everyone looks forward to every year. This year, I wanted to keep the theme universal, so I used the same shark for all of the cut files and the colors.
I don’t particularly like the way multiple layers of vinyl feel on a shirt, and neither do some of my kids…so I edited the cut file to make two cuts of vinyl that would match up, instead of overlap.

Cricut Iron On Protective Sheet
Cricut Iron On {2 Colors}

I’ll share the cut file at the end of the post, but I want to share some simple screen shots and instructions for editing the images.
I chose this Great White Shark in Design Space. First I ungrouped the layers.
Next, I deleted the black layer. You could slice that part too, but I thought it would be ok without it.
Now, layer the two remaining images, and align left and top to get the top layer perfectly placed.
Select both images, and slice them. The bottom layer will now be two pieces.
Delete the top part of the shark.
Send your file to cut. {Remember to cut shiny side down, and mirror the cut}
Apply Iron On to the shirt as you would any other project, but be sure to line up your Iron On to match. Get the cut file for this project here.
