I was at my sister’s house recently, and I noticed her overall lack of Halloween decorations, and I immediately went to work on some spooky Halloween fun for her house. And this darling Ghost Halloween Countdown Calendar was the first thing I made!
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Halloween DIY
Last Halloween we had two homes to decorate for the holidays. So, I shared a lot of Halloween DIY projects. But, one of my very favorite projects was super budget friendly, this Simple DIY Halloween Banner is actually hanging on my mantel right now.
This DIY Halloween Sign is moving to my sister’s house too!
Ghost Halloween Countdown Calendar
This project was super easy and I only needed eight items to make it. And, I already had six of the eight supplies at home. Be sure to check out my Amazon Store for some of my favorite items, or click on the links below to purchase the supplies you need directly.
- Wooden Ghost or Halloween Character Cut Out
- White and Black Craft Paint and Paint Brush
- Jute or Twine
- Chalkboard Tags and chalk
- Nails and Hammer
Begin by painting your ghost white. Once it is fully dry, paint black eyes and a mouth. I didn’t love the paint coverage, so I lightly sanded the ghost. But, that step is totally optional.
Once I was happy with the paint, I carefully hammered a finishing nail into each of the ghost’s hands. My nails were white, so I didn’t need to paint them. But, if you have a silver or black nail, I would paint it.
Then, I used a chalk marker to write Days Until Halloween across two small chalkboard tags.
Next, I laced some jute through the tags and tied it to the nails on the ghost.
Finally, I used chalk to write how many days until Halloween on the tags.
I cannot wait to give this cute little ghost to my sister, niece, and nephew this week when I see them!
If you liked this post, you will love these Halloween projects too!
