Simple Labor Day Dessert Table
Each year we host a Labor Day BBQ or pool party. It’s our unofficial end of Summer party. We love having our friends and family over to enjoy delicious Labor Day foods and desserts. This year, I want to try something a little different, so I styled our entryway table with nautical decor. Then on the day of the party, I will add several different Labor Day desserts to the table for our guests to grab as they walk in to the party and as they leave for the evening.
Labor Day Desserts
I really enjoy allowing my guests to get their own food, drinks, and desserts. Our parties are usually informal, and our guests are close friends and family. Because of this, I feel comfortable setting up DIY food, drink, and dessert tables and stations. Dessert tables don’t need to be elaborate. Simple store bought treats can be decorated to match a party theme with wrappers, picks, and icing or fondant.
My kids LOVE frosted sugar cookies. So, I almost always have them for parties. I also buy store bought cakes or cupcakes furor parties as well. But, our dessert ideas aren’t just cookies and cupcakes! I will also serve fresh red and blue fruits and sliced pies.
Decorate the Table
We will have two or three dessert tables for our Labor Day cookout. Since I am just about to start decorating for Fall, I don’t want to go nuts on new party decorations. Instead, I am using what I have at our house already. Most of the decor is part of our Summer decor, just rearranged and placed in different parts of the house.
Our entry table got a quick makeover with a lot of nautical decor, including my driftwood sailboats. I added faux coral, bamboo lanterns, and buckets of flowers.
This sweet dessert table was ready in less than twenty-five minutes and I love it so much!
If you liked this party, be sure to check out these too!
