Halloween Cats with Xyron
Halloween Cats with Xyron. Many, many years ago I was a pre-k teacher, and one of my favorite books thread the kids was Slinky Malinki. I can still recite most of the book to this day. My kids love the book as well, and we have a few dogeared copies as well as a newer copy I picked up to keep fresh.
When I saw the cute black cat lollipops from Oriental Trading Company, I immediately thought of Slinky Malinki and how great these lollipops would have been for my pre-k kiddos. Since my mom and sister, and several friends still tach pre-k, I decided to order some of those cuties, and make a cute little black cat container to hold them in!
Supplies:
Empty can {I use a safety can opener to remove the lids so they won’t cut any little hands}
Cricut {To cut the craft foam eyes and nose}
Optional- DecoArt Glo It Paint
Begin by spray painting a clean can black. {I used primer too} While the can dries, use your Cricut to cut craft foam eyes and a nose. {You can cut out black ears too, but, I decided I didn’t care for them} I ran the foam through my Xyron Sticker Maker and stuck them on the can.
Once they were on the can, I painted the eyes with DecoArt Glow in the Dark Paint, and added a black dot in the middle of the eye to mimic the lollipops.
Next, I filled the can with rice to hold the lollipops. Finally, I added a knot of ribbon to the lollipops and stuck them in the cute little can.
My sister is borrowing one of our copies of Slinky Malinki to read to her class and she’s taking these cute little black cat lollipops with her!
