Big Top of Terror Halloween Party. My two oldest boys have read and are reading Stephen King’s IT. The oldest went and saw the newest movie in the theater, and watched the older version on demand on TV. It is all that has been talked about the last few weeks, so when I saw the Big Top of Terror Halloween decor from Oriental Trading, I ordered it! I was so glad I did when my girlfriend’s daughter reached out to me for help decorating a Halloween Party this weekend.
I wanted to make a big impact with a very small budget, so I painted red stripes on a thrifted sheet to mimic a circus tent’s stripes. I was very sloppy with it, and I just rolled DecoArt paint directly onto the sheet. I hung it on the wall with three small nails. This became the backdrop for photos and selfies. I used photo props and a Step Right Up sign from Oriental Trading Company on the wall with the painted sheet too. Next to the sheet I set up a small table with photo booth props for the kids to use. This was, by far, the biggest hit of the night!
I used my Form-U-Fit lemonade stand as a mini concession area, complete with Big Top of Terror Cups and popcorn bags. My Nostalgia Electrics Popcorn Maker ran all night and filled the room with the savory smell of freshly popped popcorn. I filled my vintage style gum ball machine with creepy eye ball gum balls and added creepy clown stickers to bottles of soda.
I repackaged cotton candy with creepy candy bugs in cello bags and hung them from a pole with clips hot glued to it, similar to what vendors use at a big event.
My friend’s daughter picked up red helium balloons for the party to tie in to the new IT movie, and they were the perfect addition to the Big Top of Terror evening!
