When I was a little girl my mom, sister, and I would make thumbprint holiday cookies. My sister and I loved being able to press our thumbs into the cookie dough. And, then, of course, we loved to sample our homemade cookies! This easy thumbprint holiday cookie recipe is similar to the one I grew up making. And, it is the perfect holiday treat!

Thumbprint Holiday Cookie Recipe
These cookies are the perfect cookie to make with the kids this holiday season! And, you don’t need any special kitchen tools. Plus, you can make them any flavor you like!
Thumbprint Holiday Cookie
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ C Flour
- ½ C Sugar
- 1 ½ Sticks Butter, softened
- 1 TSP Vanilla
- 1 Egg
- ½ TSP Baking Powder
- ½ TSP Salt
- Assorted Jams or Preserves Use your favoritesPreheat oven to 350 degrees and line cookie sheet with parchment paper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line cookie sheet with parchment paper

In one bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt

In a separate bowl use a hand mixer to cream butter and sugar until fluffy

Add in egg and vanilla, then slowly add the dry mix

Scoop dough onto lined cookie sheet

Press thumb in the center of the cookie (Be sure not to press too hard) and fill with jam

Bake 13-14 minutes, do not allow to brown

Cool before serving as the jam will be very hot
