The Best Cheeseburger Recipe Ever
Living in Florida, we tend to use the grill nine to ten months out of the year. We grill and smoke a lot of chicken, turkey, and ribs, but our family favorite is grilled burgers. On a recent trip, one of the guys enjoyed a cheese stuffed burger and asked if we could make them at home, but with “our burger recipe”. He said it would be the Best Cheeseburger Ever!
Make the best burger
To make a good burger, you need quality beef. We use a blend of a higher and lower fat ground beef. The percentages can vary, but we mix a 70/30 blend with a 90/10 blend. We don’t season our burgers with anything but a coarse sea salt and ground pepper. We use our hands to mix the beef together. Once the beef has been lightly seasoned and mixed, we separate and patty each burger. My guys are teenagers, so we weigh out 1/4 lb burgers and make them a dozen at a time.
We grill the burgers over a wood fire, for several minutes on each side, being careful not to squeeze them too much when we flip the burger.
Stuffed Cheeseburger Recipe
When we made the stuffed cheeseburgers, we weighed out the beef like normal, but then split it and made 24 beef patties. After we finished the burgers, we sliced a creamy Amish Colby Jack cheese and placed two thin slices on 12 of the burger patties. Then, we topped the cheese patties with the remaining burgers, and gently pressed the edges together. Finally, we grilled the burgers as we typically do, and served them on top of a lightly toasted and buttered roll. Top with sauce and lettuce, tomato, and onions and enjoy!
