My boys LOVE candy apples. Their dentist does not. So, a few years ago we started making our own easy Fall candy apples and their dentist approves of the homemade ones, in moderation, so we indulge in these sweet treats once or twice during the fall season.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Fall Foods
We love food in our house. We all really enjoy spending time in the kitchen creating new recipes to enjoy together. And, one of my boys is an amazing baker.
The kids also really enjoy apple cider, and I love the way it smells when I make it, so I make this easy Homemade Spiced Apple Cider at least once a year too.
Easy Fall Candy Apples
To make these sweet treats easier on our teeth, we use sliced apples. Then, we dip them in or drizzle them with melted caramel or candy melts. Sometimes we set up a small DIY candy apple bar, with crock pots of melted candy, and bowls of sprinkles and nuts for the boys. This caramel sauce recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction’s Homemade Caramel Apples post is our family’s favorite!
Some of the boys like the more tart green apples, while the others prefer the sweeter honey crisp apples. Either way, I slice the apples, and soak them in a little bit of lemon water before I pat them dry. Then, we use a spoon to drizzle candy melts and caramel on top, or carefully dip them into the melted candy before we sprinkle them with seasonal sprinkles or chopped nuts.
To help make my life a little easier, I order nearly everything I need for delivery on Amazon. Just click the links below to order your candy apple supplies too!
These would be great treats for friends and neighbors too! Just package them in cello bags with a little ribbon!
