Y’all, one of the ways I show my love for friends and family is by sharing homemade foods. I love to make some of our favorite foods and drop them off at our family and friends’ homes. So, when I accidentally made an enormous batch of Homemade Tomatillo Salsa, I thought I would share it with some of our neighbors. But, the slightly chunky green colored dip in a glass jar was, ummm, unsightly. I didn’t want to gross anyone out with an unlabeled jar of green who knows what. So, I made a cute little printable food label to put on the jars.
Printable Food Label
Whenever I share homemade goodies with friends and family, I add little custom food labels to the box, basket, or jar.
I try to include any allergen information on the backs of the tags, just in case. The front of the tags or labels are pretty and match whatever theme I have made.
I feel like the extra step makes the gift that much more special.
Tomatillo Salsa Labels
Yesterday, I shared my Simple Tomatillo Salsa Recipe. What I didn’t share was that I made a batch large enough to supply a Mexican restaurant for a month. And, I have some kids that just will not eat green foods like that. A fresh green bean or snap pea, sure, Salsa Verde? Not a chance.
Of course, I had to share it! So, I quickly made these darling labels for the jars, and placed a jar of tomatillo salsa and a bag of chips on my family and neighbors doors.
These labels on jars of salsa would be great for a giant fiesta party favor too! (Just not during our time of social distancing)
Food Label Stickers
I tied my labels onto the jars with some twine, but you could add adhesive to the labels and create a simple food label sticker too!
You can find these labels in the shop, here. Just use the code TOMATILLO to download it FREE.
