Valentine Card Box Ideas
Last year, I shared a few fun ideas for Valentine’s Day card boxes, and they are still some of my favorites! You can follow this simple DIY for a Handmade Valentine’s Day Card Envelope. Or, you could make a slightly more complex Circus Car Valentine’sDay Card Box.
This year, I used my nieces new found love for hockey and decide to make a fun Hockey Net Valentine Card Box for her. They match her Free Printable Hockey Kids Valentine’s Cards perfectly!

This project is a little time consuming, and will take at least 24 hours to make due to paint drying time.

Step 1
Cut the PVC. You will need:
- (4) pieces cut to 6.75″
- (2) pieces cut to 9″
- (3) pieces cut to 7.5″
Step 2
Connect an elbow to each end of the 9″ pieces. Then, connect the other two elbows to one end of two of the 7.5″ pieces.
Step 3
Now, connect the T-Connectors to each end of the remaining 7.5″ piece of PVC.
Step 4
Next, connect one end of each of the 6.75″ pieces to each part of the open T-Connectors.
Step 5
Connect the large “I” shaped piece to the both of the 9″ pieces with the elbow at the top, and the 7.5″ pieces at the bottom. This should give you a sports goal net frame.
Step 6
Paint the whole frame red.
Step 7
Drape the tulle over the frame and fasten with zip ties. This step is a lot easier with two people to make sure it’s snug around each side. Once the tulle is secure, trim the excess tulle and zip ties.
Step 8 – Optional
Add a piece of cardboard under the net with hot glue to hold the cards. My niece did not want me to do the step because she wants to use her tiny net for practice after Valentine’s Day.
Step 9
Set up your Hockey Goal on your desk and decorate the desk with the NHL Table Decorating Kit from Oriental Trading. We decided the small box was perfect to hold her Hockey Valentine’s Day Ducks and cards for her classmates!
