Hands down, one of my favorite holiday activities is seeing the Nutcracker Ballet. I’ve been able to see it several times, but, I would truly be happy to see it every year. So, as a treat to myself, I bought tickets to the local show, and hosted a small Nutcracker Dinner Party for myself and my friends.

Nutcracker Themed Party
As soon as I purchased the tickets to the show, I knew I wanted to host a Nutcracker Party. I also knew I wanted it to be a small and simple party. Since we have already decorated for the holidays, I just set our dining table with Nutcrackers, garland, and other holiday decorations.
Nutcracker Party Decorations
I ordered Nutcracker party supplies and wooden Nutcracker ornaments from Oriental Trading Company well before our party, just because I loved them so much! They were the perfect finishing touches to my party table.
I used a simple white table cloth on the table, and dressed it up with a strand of lit garland. Then, I added small red and gold ornaments and tartan plaid ribbon to the garland. The center of the table was decorated with Clara, The Mouse King, and a Toy Soldier nutcracker. I added a toy drum, a plaid gift box, a few more nutcrackers, and beautiful ballet pointe shoes to the table around the garland as well.
Each place setting had a beautiful Christmas dinner plate topped with fun Nutcracker disposable plates. Simple white napkins were dressed with more plaid ribbon and a sprig of greenery. Finally, I added a wooden Nutcracker ornament and peppermint candy cane to each place setting.
Of course we had plenty of sweets! But, I also served a Holiday Ham, fresh rolls, and some brussel sprouts.
