We miss going to our favorite restaurants. We miss eating our favorite meals. So, we are learning to cook more meals at home. And, I thought it would be fun to set up our dinner table to resemble one of our favorite barbecue restaurants and have a little BBQ Party for dinner one night!
We LOVE good BBQ. From The Best BBQ Ribs to The Best BBQ Seasoning Recipe and The Best Homemade BBQ Sauce, we can make just about anything. But, our favorite is simple pulled pork with garlic toast and mac and cheese.
The great thing about our BBQ Party is that it was really just a way to make a normal week night dinner more fun.
I grabbed a gingham sheet and covered the table, then I set the table with disposable dinnerware, flowers, candles, and left the center open for a big tray of smoked pulled pork, garlic toast, fresh fruit, mac and cheese, and chips. I made dinner even more special by adding small glass bottles of Coca-Cola for the kids too! I even made some fun printable activity sheets to mimic the kids meal menus. I’ll share those on Friday!
It was getting ready to rain outside or we would have enjoyed dinner under the party lights on the back deck. But, dinner inside was nice and we didn’t have to fight off bugs while we ate.
We did enjoy some time playing Fun Backyard Games while the pork was on the grill smoking before the rain came though!
We all enjoyed eating at our new favorite BBQ spot, and we are looking forward to checking out their outdoor dining area real soon. Hahahaha.
We even had enough leftover pulled pork to try it on a pizza the next day…omgosh, y’all we made a heavenly hog pizza with bbq sauce, pulled pork, bacon, and ham…it was SO GOOD!
