Watermelon Mint Julep Recipe
Watermelon Mint Julep Recipe. As we approach Derby Weekend, I wanted to share a recipe for my new favorite drink! Watermelon Mint Juleps! This is a bold drink with a crisp hint of mint, and smooth sweetness of fresh watermelon.
I love a good Mint Julep recipe…actually, I love taking a recipe and making it my own. This is a simple recipe, which is good, because the Watermelon Mint Julep is so good, you will want more!
I pre-made a Watermelon Mint simple syrup as the base and popped it in the fridge until I was ready for our Derby Party {or I wanted a drink} The syrup would be a good mix in for carbonated water too!
For our Derby Party, I will set up a serving tray with fresh mint, watermelon cubes, bourbon, and the syrup. It’s a super easy way to get guests involved in the party, and make a little less work for yourself!
Be sure to package up some mint leaves and syrup with small bottles of Maker’s Mark and small DIY horse shoes as favors for your guests to take home too! Who wouldn’t want to take that home as a party favor?!
