Bunny Patch Cookies
Bunny Patch Cookies by Sweet Threads Clothing Co. My boys are out of school this entire week, and with the pollen count being ridiculous here, I really don’t want them to spend too much time outside, so we are looking for fun activities for them to do! This one is on our short list!
From Michele:
These cookies are a fun activity for any Easter party or even in the classroom and a great way to get the kids involved and excited about the upcoming holiday! I used all store bought ingredients we found at our local grocery store. We are semi-homemade around here and I like quick and easy so I purchased my sugar cookies and frosting but you can certainly make your own! I also used Pillsbury’s Key Lime frosting since it was already a light green but you can buy a white frosting and add green food coloring as well. The edible green grass was found in Target and you can purchase Peeps pretty much anywhere.
I baked my cookies as directed on the package. While they were baking, I cut my edible grass up a bit (it’s a bit time consuming but a must if you want them on your cookies) and also placed the Peeps on a toothpick. You could substitute toasted coconut shreds for grass too.
After the cookies are cooled, top them with your green frosting and then sprinkle on the edible grass.
Using the toothpick, place one Peep in the center of each cookie and then decorate with candies. We used jellybeans.
Hop them all onto a tray and now you have a patch full of bunnies all ready to be eaten up! I promise these are a hit with the kids!! Happy Easter!!!!
