Fourth of July Party Favor Bucket

Every year on the Fourth of July families gather at the park hours before the fireworks are scheduled to start. They lay claim to the perfect place to view the amazing fireworks show, but they can’t leave that spot. And that leaves them with crabby kiddos that want to run and play. When the boys were younger we would host a fun Fourth of July lunch with friends and family. Then, we would gather them up and head to the park for hours. We took turns taking the boys to the park and potty, but they were always bored and ready to go before the show even started. I learned quickly to make fun Fourth of July Party Favors for the kids, and they were total life savers.

Patriotic Party Favors

Our 4th of July party favors always worked because they were filled with treats the kids never saw the treats before we got to the park. I filled small sand pails or sling bags with glow sticks, small cars, candies, special juice or water bottles and more. It was always a fun surprise, and it helped keep the cost down once we got to the park.

These favors can be as simple or extravagant as you choose. I usually shopped at Oriental Trading Co., or Target’s party or Dollar Spot. Each of the kids get their own semi-personalized red, white, and blue favors.

Fourth of July Favor Ideas

There are some things I ALWAYS add to the favor buckets. Each bucket always gets snacks, candies, and juice. Each year I look for fun patriotic sunglasses and glow sticks too. Then, we don’t have to buy overpriced drinks, snacks, and glow sticks from park vendors. Since we live in Florida, I also add bandanas. I can soak them in cool water to help keep everyone cool while we wait for the big show.

Once I have all of the standard goodies for the buckets, I start to gather some more personalized treats for each kid. If you are doing this for a large party, this would be a challenge.

Hot Wheels cars, crayons and coloring books, small legos, sparklers, small beach balls, and quiet travel games are also good favor ideas.
