Simple DIY Treat Boxes with Cricut
Simple DIY Treat Boxes with Cricut. I am asked about treat boxes and where to find them, how to keep them upright all them time…To me, a party needs to be cohesive, the same color scheme and style throughout. I could buy pre-made treat boxes, but it would be nearly impossible to match every party theme and style, because of this, I make the majority of my treat boxes using my Cricut Machines. I can re-size the boxes to fit my vision, and I can cut them from paper to match my party!
My Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle quickly makes personalized and professional looking treat boxes and so much more! I am still just so smitten with the stunning classic pearl and gold with the Cricut Martha Stewart Machine. As with other Explore Air 2 Machines, the Cricut Martha Machine can cut and write up to 2X faster than previous Cricut Explore models. The Cricut Explore Air 2 can easily cut over 100 materials — from cardstock, vinyl and iron-on to specialty materials like glitter paper, cork, and bonded fabric. Using my Cricut makes it easy to realize my creative vision. I can easily design on the go on my laptop, iPad or iPhone; browse and play with thousands of images, fonts, and ready-to-make projects or I can even create my own designs from scratch. The Cricut Martha Stewart Machine Bundle includes 25 exclusive Martha Stewart projects, plus a color-coordinated Basic Tool Set with a weeder, spatula, scraper, tweezers, and scissors. The Cricut Martha Machine can cut, write and score in 1-step. It’s easy to use with the Smart Set Dial that has predefined settings to get the best results on paper, vinyl, iron-on, cardstock, fabric, poster board, and more. No need to manually adjust the blade. And, just like every other Cricut machine, you can cut your projects wirelessly with Bluetooth® technology. This machine includes a double tool holder for cutting and writing or scoring in one simple step. You can even download images and projects to design offline with the Cricut iOS app!
I created these treat boxes to match Martha’s all-new assortment of party supplies and décor in 10 beautiful themes, ranging from vibrant Pink Ombré and summertime Indigo to whimsical Iridescent and sophisticated Sterling. Each theme features a unique assortment of party-planning essentials—you’ll find products like garlands, table runners, vessels for favors, and tiered stands for displaying treats span all of the themes. As soon as I saw the Blush and Gold party line, I knew it would be perfect for a sweet baby shower!
I decided to make several treat boxes and fill them with popcorn.
To make your own party treat boxes, you will need:
Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle
Cricut Cardstock {I cut some cardstock to fit my printer}
Design Space and Access Subscription – Cut File
Martha Stewart Celebrations Paper Napkins
Pinter
Foam Adhesive Squares
Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue
Filler
First, I cut the boxes and then printed and cut the little embellishments for the front of each DIY treat box. Once the cardstock was cut and scored, I assembled the boxes with hot glue, and added the floral print then cut embellishment to the front with a foam adhesive square. It took less than 20 minutes to make 5, so they are SUPER easy to make!
I used my treat boxes to hold popcorn, but as we all know, popcorn in a paper box is very light and can easily blow away or fall over on a party table. Plus, popcorn will stain paper, and look really ugly. So, I filled the bottom third of the boxes with un-popped popcorn. Next, I lined each box with a Martha Stewart Celebrations paper napkin folded into quarters. Finally, I filled the rest of the box with fresh popcorn. This kept the treat boxes from blowing away or getting stained from the popcorn!
