With over 100 likes on this picture on instagram, and tons of inquiries on how to make this, we KNEW we would have to share the simple DIY for this adorable scrappy cake stand! We think it would be absolutely perfect for a shabby chic wedding, bridal or baby shower, or even a little one’s first birthday celebration!
Stefani from La Belle Party Planning graciously shares her simple, few step DIY for it below.
First, gather your supplies. You will need two embroidery hoops, two candle sticks, fabric, and fabric scraps. You may also want to use sturdy cardboard circles or cake rounds (available at Michaels or a bakery supply store)
Then, lay your hoops on a flat surface and cut the fabric slightly larger than the inner hoops.
Next, use your fabric scraps and loop them over the outer hoop. (see images below)
Carefully slip the hoops together with all the fabric in place. Place your cardboard circle under the fabric and on top of the candle stick. Repeat this step for the second hoop.
Add cupcakes and enjoy your compliments!
