Mother’s Day Place Settings with Cricut
My family and I are going to host our annual Mother’s Day brunch this weekend, and I am busy getting ready for everyone. I am hosting our brunch, but, this year I am having food brought in to take a little stress off myself. However, I am still setting the table, and buying flowers, and gathering all the other Mother’s Day table decorations and place settings.
Why I love My Martha Stewart Cricut Explore Air 2
Of course, my gorgeous Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle worked overtime for this party! Thankfully, it will cut and write up to two times faster than previous Cricut Explore models! Like other Cricut Explore 2 machines, the Martha Stewart Machine will cut over 100 materials — everything from cardstock, vinyl and iron-on to specialty materials like glitter paper, cork, and bonded fabric. I was able to design on the go with my phone, and cut quickly once I was back in bluetooth range of my Martha Stewart Machine. {I LOVE that feature} This beautiful machine comes with 25 exclusive Martha Stewart projects, plus a color-coordinated Basic Tool Set with a weeder, spatula, scraper, tweezers, and scissors, but I used the great white shark cut file from Design Space for most of these party decorations. My Martha Machine helped me create sweet little place cards for our Mother’s Day meal.
Rather than go with a standard folded place card, I created a simple print then cut tag and tied it to a ceramic basket with delicious macarons.
Use the Martha Stewart Cricut to Create Beautiful Custom Tags
I love the Cricut print then cut feature, my handwriting isn’t what is used to be, but, obviously I still want to create a gorgeous place setting or tag.
To make it easier for you, I have created a print then cut file with all the grandma names I could think of, mom, and two blank tags.
Make your own custom Mother’s Day Table Settings with these supplies
Macarons or Candies
Step 1:
Open the cut file and resize it if you would like. Send the file to print, and then cut on your Cricut. If you want to create your own print then cut, check out this post.
Step 2:
Line the bottom of the basket with tissue paper or paper shreds, and carefully place it in the cello bag. Next, add the candies or cookies.
Step 3:
Tie a ribbon around the cello bag, and add your tags.
Step 4:
Place the prepared baskets on the place settings. I layers jute chargers on our table, with white plates and a grey and white striped linen napkin. I will add fresh flowers before brunch {or maybe I will just use my gorgeous fake flowers}.
