Halloween Friendship Bracelet
I have four tween-teen age sons. One of them is a very preppy boy. He lives in Nike short shorts and Vineyard Vines t-shirts. This child has also decided he needs a Hydro-Flask and he has started making the staple VSCO Boy friendship bracelets. He even asked if I would take him to Michaels recently to pick up embroidery thread and beads.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Make a VSCO braided bracelet
It’s really easy to make thread bracelets. But, if you are like me, it feels like it’s been a million years since you braided one for your BFF. So, to refresh your memory, and help you blow your kids’ minds, the boy and I shot a step by step tutorial to make your own glow in the dark Halloween Friendship Bracelet.
String Bracelet Supplies
Embroidery Thread – we used black and orange
Clipboard or Tape
Optional – Glow in the Dark Pony Beads and Letter Beads
Step 1:
Cut two pieces of embroidery thread to 54″. You may need more or less depending on the size of your VSCO Girl/Boy.
Step 2:
Fold them in half.
Step 3:
Tie a knot at the fold, leaving a little loop. Clip it to the clipboard or tape to the counter.
Step 4:
Separate the colors. You will have two of each color.
Step 5:
Take two strands of the same color and make a “4” over the other two strands. Loop and tie into a tight knot.
Step 6:
Repeat with the second colored embroidery threads in the opposite direction. (Make a “P”)
Step 7:
Repeat steps 5-6 until you are happy with the length. Tie a knot with all four strands of thread.
Step 8:
Thread embroidery thread through the pony bead and tie in place.
Step 9:
Repeat steps 5-6, and 8.
Step 10:
Thread all four embroidery threads through the letter beads. You may need a needle.
Step 11:
Thread embroidery thread through more pony beads and tie in place.
Step 12:
Repeat steps 5-6 until the bracelet is even and tie off in a knot.
