Easter Egg Garland
My kiddos were getting on my case about not having enough Easter decorations out in the house, so I ran to the Dollar Tree and gathered some goodies, thinking I would just fill some cloches and apothecary jars with plastic eggs. But, then I got a mailbox full of happy from Laura Kelly Designs and World Market. And my idea for the plastic eggs totally changed directions! I made a simple Easter Egg Garland with adorable carrots in just about 10 minutes.
Would you look at those crazy adorable carrots? Laura Kelly truly loves all the carrots, so our Laura Kelly Design Team goodies were all about carrot love…and when they are this cute, how could you not love them?
Supplies:
Plastic Eggs (I used the tiny ones)
Jute or twine
Large needle
Adorable carrots
Begin by threading your jute onto the needle. Each egg had two holes at the top and bottom. I laced the jute through one hole on each end. But, I angled the jute through the egg so that it would it would hang on the jute nicely. I used a repeating pattern, but that is totally up to you. I needed at least 24 mini eggs for my mantel, but again, the length is totally up to you.
I swagged my garland, and tied the carrot bunch in the middle of the garland. To keep the carrots gathered, I used the same needle and jute and sewed the carrots together. Then, I cinched them tighter together and used the excess jute to tie them to the garland.
Voila, 1o minutes later, I had an adorable Easter decoration, and my kids love it too!
Also, and totally unrelated, can we talk about my mantel and brick surround? It needs help…I cannot decide on what I want to do with it. Can anyone share something fabulous?
Many thanks to World Market and Laura Kelly Designs for my carrots, they truly made my garland!
