Stand Tall Like a Pineapple Mother’s Day. When I was a little girl, my mom, like any good mom would tell me to stand up for what was right, but to remember that you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar…y’all, I am going to be 40 this year, and I try my hardest every day to remember what my mom taught me….but, who wants a flies with honey and vinegar party? The quote, Be a pineapple; Stand tall, wear a crown {ok, my mom never said that…but, it’s a crown…}, and be sweet on the inside was a much nicer theme, and kind of resonates with what my mom taught me. We will be out of town for Mother’s Day, so we celebrated a little early with our moms. I shared a sneak peek of one of the gifts for the moms yesterday. But, of course, we couldn’t just have mimosas in adorable little monogrammed glasses, I mean, we could, but it’s not a party without cake…so, I purchased a cake, and some sweet little pineapple goodies at Target and placed them on the table. And, that adorable white pineapple is a LIGHT!! My dear friend Nat from Fern and Maple Events gave it to me at SNAP last month!
Every year for Mother’s Day since I could drive, I can remember looking for and buying Caramel Creams candies for my mom for Mother’s Day. They are her favorite, with a cup of coffee, and extra cream. She carefully takes the cream out, and then eats the caramel. They were a rare treat for her when I was a kid, we never seemed to have any extra money to spare, and if there was anything extra in the budget, it undoubtedly went for new shoes or dance clothes for my sister or me. So, every time I unwrap a Caramel Cream candy from Goetze’s, a pang of nostalgia waves over me, and I smile…how great is it that I get to do what I love, and work with a brand that I have known and loved since I was a little girl? And, since I have a ton of Cow Tales Minis and Caramel Creams, I didn’t have to hunt for any this year, but they were a part of our table, and celebration, just like they have been for years! My mom even took home the pineapple bowl…LOL!
We had a sweet celebration, full of fun times and laughter, and I am so very blessed to live so close to my mom.
