Back to School Brunch
On the first day of school each year, I have hosted a small back to school brunch! I started the tradition when my boys were at a small school. I would set up a table and little coffee bar with juice, fruit, coffee, and muffins at the school on the first day. After the kids were settled in there classes, parents would come out and enjoy a light breakfast. After the boys left the small school, I started hosting Bus Stop Brunch.
Bus Stop Brunch
We quickly renamed the first day brunch to Bus Stop Brunch. After the bus picked up our kids we would walk back to my house and enjoy a full spread of brunch goodies. Each year we invited new parents into the group as they dropped their babies off for the first time. It was a sweet tradition that lasted nearly a decade.
My last baby is now in his second year of middle school so it’s been a few years since I have had a Bus Stop Brunch. However, this year that is going to change, and I am bringing the Bus Stop Mamas to our house once again!
Back to School Brunch Foods
Our Bus Stop Brunch would not be complete without mimosas and iced coffee. Some years I got fancy and set up a DIY waffle bar, other years I bought muffins and called it good. This year, I will make a variety of muffins and sweet breads to snack on. But, no matter what we ate, we were filling our souls by being together.
Mom’s Brunch
Being a parent is so hard! It is so very important to find a tribe and love them hard. I cannot imagine working through parenthood without some of my mom-tribe.
