Shark Week Party at the Beach

Wooden Shark Sign

Shark Week Party at the Beach

Every year I host a shark week party for our kids and their friends. Some years we’ve hosted the party in the back yard and play Shark Week on a projector. Other years we have moved the party inside. This year, however, we hosted an early Shark Week Party at the Beach, and it may be my favorite party ever!

Beach Party Table

Host a Shark Week Party

Since this party was at the beach, I didn’t want to pack more than what could fit in my little wagon. I set up a small table that was easy to take apart and put back together near a pier. Then, I covered the table with a beach blanket. I brought a few nautical decorations from home and set them on the table to add a little more color to the table. I also made a fun pallet wood shark sign to rest against the table legs on the sand.

Shark Week Party Food

It’s hard to have a whole lot of food at the beach, unless you don’t mind eating sand. I did have a small cake, and to keep it from getting sandy and gross, I put it in a wooden crate on its side.

Coral Cake

I also brought bottled Coca Cola and kept it cool in a small bucket of ice. Since the beach party was really for the kids, I filled a jar with gummy sharks and put some lollipops on the table for the kids to grab while they played in the surf.

Once it was time to leave, we loaded up our wagon and went home to eat and watch some re-runs of Shark Week on TV.

I think this will be our new Shark Week party tradition.
