Shark Week is coming to an end, but we couldn’t finish the week without some Shark Birthday Party Inspiration! My guys are too old for baby shark parties, and shark parties in general, so I just put together this little pool party for my nephew’s birthday recently.

If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Shark Themed Party
Every summer we host a fun shark themed party for Shark Week (or my nephew’s summer birthday). It’s one of our family’s favorite summer traditions. Even if my boys pretend to be too cool for it!
Last year we had a similar party, you can see more of it in this Parties at Home – Shark Party post. But, this Shark Week Party At the Beach is still one of my very favorites!
Shark Birthday Party

Since this was just a small family birthday party, we didn’t over decorate. In fact, I put most of the decorations in the pool or on the pool steps.

We made a simple balloon arch and hung it on the pool stairs. Then, I put some inexpensive lanterns on the top step, and some sand buckets filled with ice and frozen treats or water bottles. Since the kids were in the pool, we just brought out snacks and treats on lifeguard plates from My Minds Eye on a costal tray. (The DIY for it is in this Mother’s Day Gift post)

Then, I filled the pool with shark beach balls, shark pool floats, and a fun spark sprinkler. We also added balloons with glow sticks in them in the pool later at night.

Once it got dark enough, we turned on the projector and watched Shark Week and Jaws on our outdoor movie screen!
This was such a fun way to celebrate my nephew’s birthday this summer!
