National S’Mores Day Celebration

National S’mores Day Celebration. Did you even know there was such a day? Yeah, I had no idea either. I have literally lived my entire life without that important knowledge…I could not let another year pass by without celebrating! 
My friends at Oriental Trading Company sent me most of the things I needed for this fun celebration. Just before the boys came home from school I made a s’mores pie in my cast iron pan, and set up a little camp area in the back yard.
I am so very much in love with the adorable card table RV tent. How cute, right? I added a little buffalo checked blanket to the ground for the kids to sit on while they snacked and told me about school. You can’t have s’mores without a fire, so I used a little inflatable camp fire too. My kids eat raw s’mores all.the.time. so, they were excited to see the ingredients for s’mores as a snack, even without a real fire. (It’s too hot in Florida for a bonfire) 
After the boys ate their s’mores pie and raw s’mores, they played in the tent, even my 13 year old, and then hopped in the pool for a bit.
I used some wooden berry boxes to package up s’mores kits for the boys to enjoy for snack again another day too.
It was a fun way to celebrate the holiday, and the boys’ first day of school.
