Jack O Lantern Party. There is something about a classic Jack O Lantern that makes me feel like a little kid again. A pumpkin with simple triangle eyes and a smile with missing teeth…I am suddenly 7!
I was recently at the Cricut Mountain Make A Thon, and, of course, I was chatting with some of my friends. We thought it would be fun to share Halloween inspiration with our new Cricut Makers! But, I thought it would be fun to include Oriental Trading Company products too. So, I reached out to OTC, and they graciously sent each of us Halloween products to use. Pretty great, right? It gets better…Oriental Trading also offered to give one reader a $75 gift card! Amazing, yeah? It gets better…Cricut offered to give that same winner a Cricut Maker!! WHAT??? Can you imagine the holiday party crafting you will do if you win??!! So, when you are done checking out my super fun Jack O Lantern Party, go check out my best blogger friends’ blogs, and ENTER TO WIN A CRICUT MAKER AND A $75 GIFT CARD TO ORIENTAL TRADING COMPANY!
My sister is a teacher’s aid in a small classroom, so, I decided to order products she could use for the class Halloween celebration. I ordered simple pumpkin decorations, and cups, plain orange treat bags, an orange chevron table runner, and tiny Jack O Lantern treat containers. These are perfect for little ones with allergies.
Once I had everything I needed from Oriental Trading Company, I fired up my Cricut Maker, and my Easy Press. I decorated the pumpkin decorations and pumpkin cups with Cricut Outdoor Grade Vinyl. It was so easy to cut out all the vinyl, and my boys had so much fun decorating the pumpkins with the vinyl. Next, I cut out Iron On Vinyl and used the Easy Press to make Jack O Lantern faces on the orange bags. (These are similar to inexpensive reusable grocery bags; set the Easy Press to 250* and press for 30 seconds) Finally, I used my Maker to cut 6 felt Jack O Lanterns. I hot glued the lanterns to some jute, and tacked them to the backdrop.
I bought some marshmallow cream pumpkin candies and orange frosted sugar cookies for the party table too.
I decided to use the Jack O Lantern decorations around the party table. I just stapled them to lumber scraps to hold them up and give them a little more dimension. The table was simply decorated with a white table cloth and an orange chevron table runner. A cake sat center stage, framed by adorable Jack O Lantern sip cups. I added the frosted cookies in front of the cake, and scattered the mini Jack O Lantern treats around the table.
This party was ready to go in less than 2 hours and I was able to do almost all of the shopping from the comfort of my own home!
