Hot Cocoa Bar. Well, Punxsutawney Phil predicts 6 more weeks of winter. Which, for this Florida native, doesn’t mean a whole lot. However, it has been unseasonably cool here this past week (even colder than Denver on Monday according to the local weatherman) and the kids were BEGGING for hot cocoa. Who am I to say no? We invited a few friends over for movies, cookies, cocoa, and a Chocolate Waterfall! My sweet friend at Pineapple Paper Co. made the most adorable printables for me to use, in my favorite red Buffalo Plaid, that set the tone for the whole party.
The party table was simple, and set up on my pallet bar. The large printable sign was printed for just s few dollars at my local print shop as a colored engineer print. I bought pre-made cookie dough and made cookies just before the party. Cut up pre-made Rice Krispie Treats, homemade marshmallows, and the cookies were perfect for dipping in the Chocolate Waterfall from Nostalgia Electrics. My kids love that machine, and it’s super easy to use (and not too bad to clean up in a deep sink). We’ve used it at a few parties, and it is always a big hit.
I pre-heated milk and water and put it in my hot drink dispenser and added packets of hot cocoa to a basket for the kids to DIY their own drinks. I also added milk glass jars of coconut (my kids are obsessed with coconut in their hot cocoa), butterscotch chips, and red hot candies. A bucket of peppermint stir sticks were on the table too.
I ordered another 6 pack of hot cocoa from Zazzle to pass out to our guests as they left. They were a perfect match, and the printable party circles fit on the lids like they were custom made specifically for it!
It literally took more time for me to bake the cookies and text my friends than it did to set up this party, and the kids had such a great time! And we were all nice and cozy drinking our cocoa, eating our chocolate dipped junk food, and watching movies that cold winter evening!
