[…] but for Easter, I thought it may need a little more. In less than 10 minutes, I had a sweet little Easter addition to my table. But, I didn’t stop there, I also made some matching place cards for the boys for Easter […]
Farmhouse Easter Tablescape
Since we are finally done with construction and contractors in our house, I have been itching to decorate for Spring and Easter. So, on a recent trip to wander the aisles of HomeGoods and Target, I found myself adding all the Easter tablescape decor to my cart. Cute little ceramic baskets, a darling houndstooth table runner, a box of boxwood…cute cakes, fresh flowers, Easter candy and more. All of it made it’s way into my cart, and I happily took it home to begin decorating for Easter. I know it might be a little early for Easter table decorations, but, it is all just so cute, I couldn’t wait to set the table!
Easter Centerpiece:
I decided to decorate the center of the table instead of using a single centerpiece or wreath in the middle of the table. However, I use a rustic box with faux boxwood as a centerpiece, and then added a pair of cake plates, fresh Easter flower arrangements, and decorative eggs around it and down the center of the table.
We have a gorgeous hand made farmhouse style table, and while I truly love it, I wanted just a pop of color for the table, so the blue grey houndstooth table runner was perfect to anchor all of the Easter centerpieces.
The cake plates were topped with store bought vanilla and carrot cakes. Since the carrot cake didn’t fill the cake plate fully, I added small candy eggs around the edge. A cute chocolate bunny sat on top of the vanilla cake.
I filled in the space between the boxwood and the cake plates with a rustic bunny statue. Then, I filled in any more space with flowers, and decorative Easter eggs.
Easter Dinnerware:
With four boys, we aren’t super fancy, so, I just set the table with our everyday plates instead of Easter dishes. I love Easter plates, but it’s just not something I can reasonably store and use just once a year. So, instead, I used a cute gingham paper plate on top of our dinner plates. Next, I stacked a salad plate on top of the paper plates. Finally, I filled small wooden berry baskets with tissue paper, candy eggs, and a sweet chocolate bunny!
Our table is set and ready for Easter, and it looks beautiful right now for family dinners.
