Fall Tablescape Challenge
I am part of a fabulous group of party stylists and planners on Facebook. A smaller group of us decided it would be fun to have a Fall tablescape challenge and share each other’s work in a blog hop!
The table had to include 5 items; pumpkin(s), apple(s), a red wagon, wheat stalks, and a wooden sign. BUT, the table could not cost more than $25 to style!
I was able to create my table for about $10.
I spent $5 on mini pumpkins and Elf House gourds from the pumpkin patch at my church, and $4 for a small bouquet of flowers from the grocery store. Everything else on the table I already owned.
I styled my table outside on our large farm house table. (My husband and I made it for about $100 in just a few hours and it is 8′ long!) I used a large muslin quilt as the table cloth and a red paisley sheet as the runner for a pop of color. At the end of the table, I put a tow behind wagon my dad refinished for my son and filled it with mini hay bales and a few pumpkins. Next to the wagon, I put our new scrap wood chalk board. (If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peek of it on Saturday) I thought it needed to be up higher on the table, so I put a small wooden box under it, and then added some candles and pumpkins in front of it. I propped the wagon trailer on a small galvanized pail, and added a few pumpkins around it. I love my white washed lantern, and I thought the end of the table needed to be lightened up little, so I added that as well. Finally, I grabbed a log from our fire wood pile to fill in a hole between the wagon, the lantern, and the box.
Speaking of firewood, the hubs and I were fortunate enough to get about six 7′ logs free this week, so I asked him to cut off a few wood disks for me to use on the table. I laid them down the center of the table. The two middle ones held the drink bottles and small bouquet. The bouquet was in a plastic trick or treat pumpkin bucket that I covered in FloraCraft burlap. (I sprayed adhesive on strips of the burlap and stuck them to the pumpkin, 5 minutes and $5) The other two disks had small pumpkins and apples on them.
Each place setting was set with some of our own creamy yellow plates and silverware tied with fabric napkins. It was a simple place setting, but it looked perfect on the table.
