Blue Nagoo Scavenger Hunt with HP Social Media Snapshots. My family is blessed to be involved with an amazing youth group and children’s church at our home church. My oldest son has loved every minute of the 4+ years he has spent in the youth group, and my second son is truly enjoying his first year. This past weekend the youth leaders hosted a Blue Nagoo Scavenger Hunt at one of our local malls. It was an afternoon full of silly fun and fellowship. My husband and I volunteered to help with the scavenger hunt portion of the event months ago. We have hosted several scavenger hunts in the past for parties or even fundraising events, and we love it! This particular mall is always very accommodating, so we have hosted a few there. Part of the Blue Nagoo Scavenger Hunt included finding several youth leaders in disguise.
In an effort to stream line teams and points for each team, we asked one member of each team to text me a photo OR to login to their new HP Social Media Snapshots App and send their images to my HP Envy Printer. Initially, each team was just going to text me the photos and I would tally their points. However, I was asked to join the HP Social Media Snapshots campaign early this month and I knew it would be so awesome to include it in the scavenger hunt, and I was not wrong, it was PERFECT! HP Social Media Snapshots is a free app available for Android and Apple phones, and it allows the user to print a photo directly from their phone. The app allows you to customize the photo’s appearance, and even add text! You simply have grab your photos from your camera roll or other social media accounts. The photos print in seconds onto sticky photo paper! I have printed over 100 images so far and I am *just* now getting a low ink message. The youth group LOVED being able to print their photos and had a fun memento of their scavenger hunt. The photos were labeled before they were printed with some text and the team name.
The youth were separated into groups of 3-4 with at least one senior high youth and 2 junior high youth members. (The junior high group is really big) The teams had to figure out clues that were as simple as asking for a sample from Taco Bell or Subway or singing I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream at the Chick Fil A counter for a free ice cream cone, to something as difficult as finding a specific tattoo in the tattoo parlor. We even had gender specific clues, the boys were asked to try on a pink dress, while the girls were asked to find a drill press and pose for a photo. They also had to find 4 youth leaders in disguise. The team that correctly completed the most clues was the winner and was treated to lunch. All the teams had so much fun, and they have all asked to do it again!
Having the printer really made this scavenger hunt so much more fun! I can’t wait to host another hunt so I have an excuse to use the printer again!
Even if you don’t have a scavenger hunt in your near future, you NEED to download this app to use with you HP printer! Think of how great it will be to have during the holidays!!! No more photos hanging out in limbo on your phone. Just select, add text (if you want) and print! Plus, right now, through Halloween, you can buy the HP Media Snapshots #StickAPic paper exclusively from Staples for half off using this link!
