Lego Movie Party

Lego Movie Party

Lego Movie Party

Are your kids as excited to see the new Lego Movie as my kids (and husband) are?  We have had Legos in our house for as long as I can remember, and I am fairly certain we have every Lego game there is…When my boys saw the trailer for the new movie, they BEGGED to go see it. Going to the movies at the theater is a treat in our house, usually reserved for Pixar hits and super hero movies.  I agreed, but I know we won’t be going overboard with treats at the theater.  To add to the excitement, I styled a mini Lego Movie Party for the boys.  We will grab our snacks from the dessert table and head to the theater after school!

Lego Movie

My son is celebrating his 10th birthday this weekend too, so I wanted our celebration to be small, and not break the bank.  I used Legos from the boys’ collections, paper cut out Lego Mini Figures, vinyl cut out Lego Mini Figures, and MOVIES letters cut out by Ten23 designs.  My favorite detail, though, is the hot glued Lego bricks on my white cake plate!

The desserts were all store bought, and affordable too.  I purchased candy Legos from the candy store in the mall, and movie box candy and cake pops from Walmart. I popped some popcorn as well, and put it in our popcorn boxes.  Finally, I added special aluminum Coke bottles to the table with small Solo cups I embellished with Lego Mini Figure vinyl cut outs.

I also added vinyl Lego Mini Figures to Dollar Tree Sandwich boxes to store the Lego candy, and the new Lego Movie Mini Figures I picked up for the boys.

They are going to be so thrilled when they come home from school and see the little celebration.

Thank you! We found some of the Mini Figures at Target and Toys R Us, and one came with our pre-ordered copy of the Lego Movie Game.
