Oktoberfest Party

Oktoberfest Party by Perfect Party Packages.  This is such a fun twist on a traditional Oktoberfest Celebration!

I simply adore everything about the Munich Oktoberfest – especially the Dirndls, Lederhosen and all the fun and games surrounding it. So I knew I had to host my own party with this as my inspiration! I live in Switzerland after all, so the theme felt very fitting and my birthday was in October, so even the season was just right. 

I ordered a darling gingham dirndl online and then set to work on designing my party printables to match my outfit! I like to play-on-words, so used some funny terminology like “Das ist Gut Stuff” in my printables, and kept to the gingham pattern and a blue/red/white colour scheme. 

As this was an adult party, I planned some silly games, where we’d be Dirndls (women) versus the Lederhosens (men). One game was Oktoberfest-inspired Pictionary where we drew items written on a card and our teams had to guess in order to get points. Another game was trying to hammer a nail into a large block of wood – whoever did it the fastest was the winner. There was a lot of competition, that’s for sure! 

Beer was on tap all night and I served my guests Bretzeln, Bratwurst, Senf (mustard), Cheese Platters and various side dishes. I set up a delicious dessert buffet too, complete with German biscuits, dulce de leche cupcakes, Apfelkuchen, birthday cake and Kinder Schokolade for our smaller guests. 

The party was a hit and everyone looked amazing in their traditional German costumes!
