I recently had the pleasure of sponsoring a table at Blogfete’s Mix and Mingle party. Because Everyday Party Magazine is a party magazine with an emphasis on DIY and budget friendly celebrations, I knew I needed to style my table as a dessert table. I also knew that I needed to include a DIY favor. My unofficial intern, La Belle Party Planning, and I thought that the scrappy cake stand would be a fantastic favor. Stefani sent pre-cut scraps, embroidery hoops, and ordered adorable paper favor bags from TomKat Studios. I baked cookies, caramel corn, and homemade marshmallows, as well chocolate syrup, iced coffee, and Irish Cream. I also built several salvaged wood crates for height on the table. Finally, Maskipops by Adri and Kima’s Konfections generously donated Everyday Party Magazine branded cake pops and cookies. (Both were amazing women to work with, with products that blew me away!)
I used white serving plates and cake stands, galvanized buckets, swing top glass bottles from Homegoods and Whole Foods, wooden crates, and an old cigar box to display the favors and treats. I made simple food cards using an opaque photo of a farm house I took in North Carolina on vacation this summer. I accented the table with fall foliage, orange, red, and cream colored candles, un popped popcorn, apples, mini pumpkins and gourds.
With a little effort, and a small budget, I was able to share a beautiful table with fabulous bloggy women! I did not attend the conference this year, but I really hope to be able to go next year! Melissa, with help from Carmen and Michele put on one heck of a conference, inviting some industry leaders to present and inspire. However, I did stay for the entire Mix and Mingle, and it was AMAZING! Renee from Renee Nicole {Design + Photography} was there to document the festivities! Deliciously Darling and The Flair Exchange co sponsored a craft table, where guests were able to make metal stamped necklaces. Mindy Cone, from Creative Juice was right next to my table with several of her wonderful macarons for everyone to try, as well as copies of her book, Gourmet Macarons for sale. There was a great spa table sponsored by Oh Goodie Designs and Moodylicous Spa with great handmade spa products for everyone! The last two tables were sponsored by Izea and an independent Stella and Dot saleswoman. The mixer was a great opportunity to meet facebook friends in real life, and make new friends and connections! I truly can’t wait for next year!
Look for some of the recipes I used soon!
