Trail Mix Recipe. We are getting ready to go on our annual vacation to Tennessee, and I am trying to find snacks the kids (and the hubs and I) will enjoy in the car and on our “adventures”. I also want the snacks to be somewhat decent for them, and I don’t want to have to stop at the store every time someone whines, “I’m HUNGRY”.
I created a cute little Adventure Awaits baggie topper for our trip. I filled a standard Ziploc bag with homemade trail mix, and added the cute little topper with a stapler.
Supplies:
Cricut Access
Card Stock
Stapler
Ziploc Style Bags
Snacks or Trail Mix for the Bags
Create your topper by adding cut files to your canvas. Attach and flatten the pieces in layers. I made the white background rectangle with a score line and attached them. Then, I added 4 branches to create the frame for the front of the bag topper. I flattened each branch and attached them to each other. Next, I added a few more images and the text (I mirrored the text horizontally and vertically so it would be written correctly on the back side of the topper), flattened them, and attached all images together. I sent it to the Cricut using the Print and Cut Feature. If you want the same topper, you can use this link.
Once I had a few cut out, I mixed up my trail mix. The trail mix is so simple, I laughed when I typed in recipe in the title. For our trail mix, I went through our pantry and found snack bags that were the last one from a package, cereal that was opened but not eaten, some marshmallows, peanuts, raisins, and M&M’s candies and poured everything into a big bowl. Then I mixed it all up, and scooped some into Ziploc bags.
After the bags were filled up, I stapled the bag topper on top! That’s it, seriously, so easy! We are ready for the adventures that await!
These would also be perfect for a camping party!
