Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream
Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream. Berry season is coming to an end in our area, and I had about a 1/4 of a pint of strawberries that weren’t really fresh enough to freeze for later, but still to fresh to toss into the garden for the critters. Add to that the fact that my family seems to have eaten what can be described as a metric ton of berries this summer, and we were all pretty much berried out…but I am frugal, and I really didn’t want to waste them.
We have made berry smoothies, berry jam, berry pies, berry shortcakes, and just fresh berries. We have topped our ice cream with berries, but we haven’t ever made fresh berry ice cream, until now! And now, I may even dream about it!

That’s it! This homemade ice cream recipe could not be any easier to make! Our ice cream was ready in just about an hour and was so creamy, but not excessively heavy. I cannot wait to make more.
