Cotton Candy Recipe
Cotton Candy Recipe. Summertime evokes silly memories of eating too much candy, playing outside until dark, and good old fashioned fun! As a mom, I want my kids to grow up with the same memories of Summer.
One of my very favorite childhood treats was cotton candy. I could not get enough…truly. And many years ago, my mom bought me my first Nostalgia Electrics Cotton Candy Maker, and I used it every chance I got. {My favorite part of cotton candy is the hot crystalized sugar that builds up in the bowl of the machine} Recently, Nostalgia Electrics sent me an amazing upgrade to my original machine, and we have made so many cones of cotton candy! We have tried tons of candy flavor mixes, and flossing sugar options, so over the next few months, I will share our favorites, and even some ideas that are better in theory than practice.
One of our favorite summer candies is Pop Rocks, and we thought it would be fun to try them in the Cotton Candy Maker. They did NOT disappoint! We used one bag, and it only yielded a small cone of delicious fluffy cotton candy. But, I think two bags would be an ideal amount for a cone.
Pour the bag into the candy receptacle, and turn the machine on. Within a few minutes the Pop Rocks will start popping some, and then spin into dreamy cotton candy! The flavor is amazing, and the crystalized sugar I mentioned before still pops a little, as though it has not been spun into cotton candy!
Our Cotton Candy machine has gotten a work out, and I couldn’t be happier!
