Caramel Cream Turkey Pops. My boys have been home all week…and it’s only Tuesday. I love them, but they need to stay busy, until they are teenagers, then they become sloths. So, yesterday I was at home trying to get a million and a half things accomplished with 8 or 9 kids at the house, I think, there were extras, I just don’t know how many. So, I showed the kids how to make these adorable Caramel Cream Turkey Pops, gave up control of the kitchen, and got a few things done!
I pulled out some Chocolate Caramel Creams, candy melts, lollipop sticks, butterscotch and peanut butter chips, Wilton Black Icing, and some baggies.
We melted the colored candy melts in ziploc bags, and the chocolate wafers in a small bowl. The kids piped out turkey feathers in a V shape and filled in with more colored candy melts. While they waited for the feathers to dry, they put a lollipop stick into Chocolate Caramel Creams and dipped them into the chocolate candy melts. Once the candy melts dried, they were able to embellish their turkeys.
They added a dab of melted candy to the back to attach the feathers. Next, they added the turkey’s wattle with a little bit of red candy melt and then stuck the peanut butter or butterscotch chip on for the beak. A dab of black royal icing worked perfectly for the eyes! I didn’t take any pics of the kids working because I didn’t want to disturb the peace and calm in the kitchen with my camera. They really did have so much fun!
I added a cute little bow to each stick, and let the kids eat as many Caramel Cream Turkey Pops as they wanted. Then, I announced it was time to play outside. The kids loved them and I think they would be so fun at the kids’ table for Thanksgiving!
