Book of Life Party
Mayra from In Flight Ideas recently styled this FABULOUS Book of Life Party and I am just thrilled to be able to share it on the day the movie premiers! I hope you enjoy all of the beautiful details as much as I do!
The Book of Life movie inspired me with it’s colors, day of the dead traditions, and fun characters to an extensive possibilities of desserts display and vibrant and cheerful set up celebrating the release of the movie.
I started by placing the table in a vertical length and placing the cake stands and platters sporadically on the table. It screams Epic Fiesta!
On the background we have papel picado directly from Mexico! And I used palms and feathers on the Land of the Remembered sign because is found on the character of La Muerte’s big hat. La Muerte translates and signifies dead in the movie.
Candles through the table and dark colors like the tablecover provide a dark look while all the fun sugar skulls give it that festive look.
The Book of Life movie characters are found on the table as toppers and on the mini cakes and desserts you can see things portrait on the movie as churros, corn, flowers, sugar skulls. There’s also succulents and cactus from the ambience in the movie included on here. And even hearts from the love that’s seen in the movie between Manolo and Maria can be seen in our cupcakes and cakepops.
For the desserts we had chocolate covered oreos, mini cakes, chocolate cupcakes, cakepops, piñata cookies, sugar cookies, and an incredible Day of the Dead cake!
Fun guitars like the ones in the movie can be seen on the sugar cookies and marigolds everywhere! The Team Manolo represents who wins the Maria’s heart and the pig Chuy is even represented with it’s own little topper.
This was a fun interpretation of our fan love for the movie and we can’t wait for it to hit theaters TODAY!
