Teacher Appreciation Gift with Sizzix
Teacher Appreciation Gift using Sizzix. Summer days are coming, but before we break free from homework and school schedules, we really need to show our kids’ teachers our appreciation! I made this adorable notepad holder, with a custom note pad in just about 20 minutes!
You can get the notepad holder DIY on the Sizzix blog today.
But, I also made the note pad! That took just a few minutes to create in Adobe Illustrator, but it can be done using Word or even Pages. I started by making a box as big as I wanted each note pad sheet to be. Then I typed “From the desk of” and placed it where I wanted it within the box. Then, in a different font, I typed the teacher’s name. I got a little fancy and shadowed my text and made the filled the font with the same pattern I used for the notepad holder too. I copied the whole box to fill a page, and then I printed it 6 times. Once it was printed, I cut them out. I used a piece of chipboard cut to the same size as the notes, and then clamped them together while I glued it with rubber cement. If that isn’t something you have time to do, you can send your file to any print shop and they will make the notepad for you for just a few dollars.
Then, I cut a standard pencil to fit in the notepad holder and covered it with coordinating washi tape.
