Simple DIY Mermaid Sand

DIY Mermaid Sand.  Each week this summer we have hosted STEM days for our kids and some of their friends.  Some of the kids are younger, so I thought I would share a fun STEM activity for the littler kiddos. We made slime for the big kids recently, and while the younger ones liked it, I was a tad nervous about them using it because of the Borax in it.  So, we made Mermaid Sand and added fun colored shells from Oriental Trading Company in it for the kids to count and pattern.  

DIY Mermaid Sand Supplies:

•2 Cups of Flour

•1 Cup of Baby Oil 

Mix together and play with it! We made more for the surf party and the mermaid party because the kids took it all home after STEM day.
