One in a Melon Summer Hostess Gift
I don’t know about you, but it’s just not summer without a bunch of juicy watermelon slices! I can’t walk into a store without picking up a melon or two for the family. So, when I was invited to a backyard party recently, I picked up an extra melon to bring with me. Of course I could have handed over a simple melon and been done. But I thought it would be more fun to add some vinyl to the outside and give a one in a melon summer hostess gift!

Hostess Gift
Y’all may think I’m a little nuts to bring a watermelon hostess gift, but, let me tell you my friend was tickled to death to get it! In fact, I think it may be my new go to hostess gift when I am invited to summer parties! I may even add a monogram to it, as any good Southern girl should.
Watermelon Hostess Gift Supplies
Step 1:
Choose a watermelon with a smooth surface. To pick the best melon, look for one with a creamy yellow field spot, and brown lines. (Those lines are from bees pollinating the flowers, and make the watermelon more sweet)
Step 2:
Download the SVG File {use code MELON to download it FREE} and upload it to Cricut Design Space. Size the cut file to fit your melon.
Step 3:
Prepare the cutting mat by placing vinyl on the mat. Send the file to cut.
Step 4:
Weed the excess vinyl
Step 5:
Clean the surface of the melon with a vinegar and water mixture. Then, apply the vinyl to the watermelon.
Step 6:
Take the cutest melon ever to your neighbors!
