Graduation Gift Idea
It’s graduation season, and we have received no less than 10 graduation announcements and cards. I always struggle with meaningful graduation presents. I know cash is king, but a card full of cash is just going to get shuffled into the mix of all the other cards with cash and checks. This year, all of our friend’s kids are getting the same graduation gift, a special frame with cash inside.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional. These commissions help to keep the rest of my content free, so thank you!
Create a Keepsake Graduation Gift
Our oldest son graduated last May, and I know some of the gifts that meant the most to him were the photos of him and his friends, and the keepsake frames he received. Armed with this knowledge, I created a Class of 2019 SVG file. Then, I went IKEA and gathered some inexpensive shadowbox frames. Finally, I went to the bank and withdrew a ridiculous amount of single dollar bills.
Make a Graduation Gift Frame
This is a project you should do while you catch up on your binge watching. There is a lot of mindless work involved in making each graduation frame. You will need to weed vinyl for each frame, and roll up dollar bills and tie a little bit of twine round each bill.
Supplies
SVG File {Use code CLASSOF19 to download it FREE}
Cricut or Silhouette
Vinyl and Transfer Tape
Dollar Bills
Photo of the Graduate
Step 1
Download the SVG File and upload it to Design Space or Design Studio.
Step 2
Size the cut file to fit your frame.
Step 3
Cut and weed the vinyl.
Step 4
Use transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the frame.
Step 5
I added $20 to each frame, but this amount is totally something you need to be comfortable with. Roll each dollar bill up tight and secure with twine or ribbon. {This is where you can catch up on TV watching}
Step 6
Place the money in the shadow box frame.
Step 7
Add a photo to the frame and reassemble.
This frame is such a great gift idea for graduates, it’s meaningful and it has cash in it! Plus, the shadowbox frame can be filled with graduation ceremony tickets, tassels, and other small keepsakes from the graduates time in school.
