At the start of this year, I decided I was going to post less frequently. My schedule was Monday through Thursday with holidays off. It’s been really nice for me the last few months. However, I wanted to be part of what is good with the world right now, more than ever before. So, each Friday for as long as you all want it, I will share a simple at home activity, DIY, free printable, or SVG that can be used by the whole family. I am starting with this Easy DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint recipe.
Sidewalk Chalk
We have gone back to talking nightly walks with the boys and the dogs, and I have seen so much awesome sidewalk artwork!
We have also been working our way through my 25+ Awesome Activities for Kids post.
Chalk the Walk is going strong here, and I love it!
What I don’t love is the way chalk feels. Like, it legitimately gives me the chills. I just cannot stand it. So, the boys and I decided to make sidewalk paint. It works like sidewalk chalk, but you don’t have to touch it. And, you can make it with items you have in your pantry!
DIY Chalk Paint
I wouldn’t recommend using this on furniture, but it is perfect for sidewalks and asphalt!
You only need three ingredients, and a few old paint brushes and you’re ready to chalk the walk!
Mix 1 part Corn Starch with 2 parts water. Next, add a tsp. of baking soda, if you have it. Then, add a few drops of food coloring to make a rainbow of sidewalk chalk! If it’s too thick or too hard to mix, add a little more water.
This was truly one of the easiest things we have done in a long time, and it was so much fun to go outside and paint our sidewalk together as a family. And, I didn’t have to actually touch chalk!
What are you doing to stay busy at home?
